Debt Progress
Freeze a plan and record statement balances at month end. History is saved in this browser. Editing the planner above leaves every baseline unchanged.
Capture the current planner’s debts, rates, strategy and extra-payment schedule. Choose the month those starting balances were recorded.
Add a debt to the planner to start a new baseline. Existing history stays available.
History files
JSON preserves every baseline, debt and checkpoint. CSV contains monthly totals and differences; incomplete totals stay blank. Files stay in your browser until you save them.
Up to 8 baselines, 40 debts per baseline and 600 checkpoints, within the 256,000-character saved-history limit. Fixed rates; balances alone do not measure actual interest or payments.
How it works›
Model and assumptions. Simulates monthly debt balances, interest and payments from the saved portfolio under the chosen strategy, extra-payment budget and dated lump sums. Freed payments follow the strategy’s allocation rules. Results include explicit incomplete-payoff status; future rate changes and new borrowing occur only if entered.CFPB: money and debt worksheetsOpenStax: annuity formulas
Recorded progress. Start a named baseline with an explicit month-end date. It freezes debts, rates, minimum rules, strategy and scheduled extras. Later planner edits do not rewrite it. Blank statement balances are unknown; enter zero for a paid-off debt. Only complete months have an actual total and a difference from the frozen plan. Missing months remain gaps, including in long charts.
Reforecast and saved history. Preview starts after the latest complete checkpoint. It keeps the frozen rates and strategy, captured rolling minimum budget and remaining payment events. Save the preview as a new baseline only when wanted; original history remains. Balances alone cannot establish actual interest or payments. History stays in browser storage and follows an eligible signed-in account. Conflicting documents require a choice. JSON import previews replacement; monthly CSV leaves incomplete totals blank. The progress report prints saved checkpoints only. Limits: 8 baselines, 40 debts each, 600 checkpoints and 256,000 characters.
